Indian Head Massage (supine/lying down treatment)
Indian Head Massage originated from India in around 600BC. It has been in this country since 1973.
What is Indian Head Massage (supine) and how may it help you?
This treatment focuses on the head and scalp, face, ears, neck, shoulders, upper back, arms and hands.
The massage movements used during the treatment are effleurage, petrissage, tapotement and frictions.
No oil is used for this treatment.
Indian Head Massage can be a standalone treatment or combined as a shorter element with any other treatment I offer.
The Treatment - What to expect?
For the full supine treatment, you will be lying down on a treatment couch and will remain fully clothed throughout the treatment, so wear something loose fitting and comfortable which is clear around the neck. You will also need to turn over on the couch during the treatment. If possible, please do not wear any jewellery, especially earrings and necklaces. If you are combining this with another therapy you may be in a reclining chair in which case you will not be required to turn over.
If you are a new client to me then I will need to do a consultation at the start of the session. If you are a regular client of mine, I may need to do a few further checks with you.
There may be certain conditions that I am not able to do this treatment on a client or caution taken into account in some circumstances – please ask me for details

Most people only worry about their hair’s health when it starts to look dry or thin. When the body is subjected to ill health or stress, the hair is often affected and can become dry. Menopause can also dry the hair and hair loss is common. Healthy hair should be promoted from childhood and this is a great treatment for little ones.
